Pattern

Estimates and time copy

How estimates and times are written, and what never appears.

Rules

  • Usual range first, then the "most people" line, then the basis.
  • Round to 5 minutes; no seconds, no countdowns, no "up to".
  • Times are the site's local time; relative times only for staff ("12 min ago").
  • Past the 90th percentile, the numbers become a sentence that points to a nurse, never red.

Live examples

Wait estimate block · An honest usual range, the "most people" line and what it is based on.
Test tracker · Tests as a process (ordered, collected, in the lab, back), never as results.
